Tree Preservation Order TPO

Tree Preservation and conservation orders (TPO)

A tree preservation order is an order made by the council to protect trees. In order to carry out any work on a tree subject to a TPO, an application must be made to the council.

Our team here at Absolute Tree Care can either help you with the application or submit it on your behalf. The fee for submitting the application will be inclusive in the price for the tree work carried out.

Please note that the council has a period of eight weeks in which to consider an application for work to be carried out on a tree subject to a preservation order. It is also an offence to cut down, top, uproot or destroy any protected trees without obtaining approval first. Failure to do so may result in a significant fine.
